THƯỢNG / no. elapsed
Dear you,
The word ‘thượng’ in vietnamese means ascent or flight. I find it’s funny how ‘thượng’ is a combination between the word ‘love’ (thương) and ‘.’ (dấu nặng).
I think language is strange but in a beautiful way. I mean, it’s strange how this word captures our story, isn’t it?
From now on, between us is distance. You, Indonesia. I, Vietnam. 3 years together in Australia. I guess this is our first departure from each other.
But don’t forget when we board our flights (thượng), hands holding our tickets, even though there will be ‘dấu nặng’ or the weight of distance— what’s left between you and me is still ‘thương’.
What’s left between us is still love.
Your dear.
P/S: This is the story that Le Narrateur holds close to our hearts. We try to capture light, the buoyancy of love and more into the couple’s story. Do you want to capture your ‘thương’, find yourself in each photograph?
Then let’s come to Le Narrateur.
